Drewzy

Hi.

My name is Drewzy, and as the website suggests, I like to make things. This is a place to document those things.

There’s something in me that seems to require creativity at all times. I’m rarely content to simply finish something and move on. Before one idea is completely out of my hands, another one is usually already taking shape somewhere in the background. Sometimes it starts with a practical problem I want to solve. Sometimes it’s a completely unnecessary idea that refuses to leave me alone until I do something with it.

Creating has become less of a hobby and more of a permanent state of mind. I’m constantly looking at objects and wondering how they were made, how they work, how I might build one myself, or how I would change them if they were mine. That curiosity tends to snowball. One question becomes a sketch, a sketch becomes an experiment, and before long there are tools on the table and some new object slowly becoming real.

The projects here often involve art, design, 3D printing, electronics, fabrication, and sometimes even the classics, like leatherwork. But I don’t have much interest in staying inside one particular category. The method usually follows the idea, not the other way around. If a project requires learning a new process or picking up a tool I’ve never used before, that tends to make it more interesting rather than less.

There’s no telling what kind of creativity I’ll be tapping into tomorrow or the next day. What I do know is that I’ll almost certainly be working on something. The need to create is persistent, occasionally impractical, and probably a little obsessive. I wouldn’t really know how to turn it off even if I wanted to.

This site is where I keep track of that ongoing trail of ideas, experiments, finished pieces, and the occasional detour that became more interesting than the original plan.
